Special Holidays allow working people to have not only a physical rest but also to fill up their souls with all kinds of emotional and spiritual desire.
So everyone from everywhere or every country is looking for a holiday. Yes, every country has a holiday based on their different traditional culture, politics, climate, geography, mode of production, and religion. Loy Krathong is coming next week. Are we ready to celebrate or are we ready to make it right?
It is all acknowledged that the Thais seem to have quite a lot of holidays throughout the year. I don’t think Thais have less official holiday than any other countries around the world. If we look at the calendar, apart from the normal western weekend, we also have official holidays in every month.
In some months, there are more than two official holidays of which have been either determined by Buddhist traditions, agricultural ceremony or political event. Regardless of all traditional background, we tend to ignore the traditional goals and true hidden functions of the ceremony.
Instead, we enjoy any holidays with such a big gathering of friends and relatives and with alcoholic drinks.
Quite a lot of time we found ourselves gone far beyond the boundary of fun and enjoyment. A long holiday of fun and entertainment can turn into the most catastrophic period leading to greatest loss of life and property.
And I ask the mahout of Nau Oon how long his elephant has been staying in the forest and he said it's about 2 weeks. Because in the past Nau Oon is too small and young to be in the forest, she just stayed closed to the mahout's house. Now they are teaching how to live in the forest at night so that his elephant can spend their privacy their, because any way the nature of elephant is to be in wild.. So Nau Oon can play, jump, rumble or trumpet in the forest without any body bother her..
Then I observe that Nau Oon has less hairs than the past and I asked the mahout what happen to her and he said because Nau Oon she played too much last night as sometimes she scratched her body with the tree so she loose her hair but any way the hair will grow as normal again..
I would like to express my sincerest apologies to all visitors of this website, as now I am changing the web server so every data and files are missing from this website. Some data will disappear from the website and can not be restore like the " calendar part" as I do not have deep knowledge of web scripts when I change the server, I do not know how to move database to the new server.. Please forgive me for this mistake.
P.s. If the tourists who would like to make reservation of the mahout training course, please send inquiry form by clicking here.. Send inquiry form
Then please wait for my email to confirm the availability of the course within 12 hours..
In this video you will see my loveliest elephants enjoy their bathing with their mahout....
"Boat racing in Nan" by Krisda Momtakhob
This weekend will be a feast for boat racing enthusiasts when the largest dragon boat racing event of the year will be staged on the Nan River in Nan, a sleepy little town with a population of only 70,000 people.
For the rest of the year, nothing wildly exciting happens here. There is not much activity at night as Nan is something of a rarity in Thailand in that it doesn't provide illegal nocturnal 'entertainment' that places such as Pattaya do. However, what Nan has to offer is a peaceful atmosphere for its visitors.
I was recently sitting by the side of the river, enjoying the gentle breeze which wafts across the water by the riverside restaurant, and enjoying some of the local cuisine with my friends.
Suddenly the silence was shattered by the rhythmic chanting of male voices. Then a long boat with sixty oarsmen suddenly materialized right in front of us. It was a narrow wooden craft, thirty metres long, and painted red and gold in the traditional local style. On its bow, a carved image of the Naga towered above the water line to chase away bad spirits, while inviting only the good ones to participate. Its crew, dressed in blue and red velvet shirts paddled furiously against the current to the frantic beating of a drum by the captain, who was sitting on the stern.
