Thank Erin and her mom in mahout training course

Just add very quick thank for Erin for bringing her lovely mom to join our two day mahout training course during 28-29 of September and Erin was in three day course on 28-30 of September..

Erin was here with her boyfriend's family about one month ago and then she left the camp to continue other trip in South East Asia and then Erin 's mom came along from USA to visit her daughter on the trip, then Erin convince her mom to take our mahout training course. Erin and mom had never seen either for very long time ago, so they had great time together at the camp..

Yesterday in the end of the show, Sue Erin 's mom shed her tear to say good bye and left Jojo her big boy at the camp as Jojo fill her happiness.

็Heavy rain in the evening!!

The rain was about to start heavily at the camp while we were bringing the elephants into the forest with our tourists in three day mahout training course. When we got to where we leave elephants, the rain just poured heavily, but all tourists were very happy especially elephants...

We were soaking wet when we get to the camp, but this is fun :P

Just added video of the tourists in three day mahout training course during 25-27 of September successfully after I had tried several time, but internet connection did not let me complete upload the video file to www.vimeo.com.

So I tried again in the afternoon and it took me over three hours to complete as I wish to show this video to the family of the tourists who is participating our course. I wish it 's not too late to present to video.

Just came back from the forest about half hour ago with eight tourists in three day mahout training course and two day course..

And give big thanks for Erin who brought her mom and friends to participate in our mahout training course during 28-30 of September as the last group of the tourists this month.

When we got to where we left the elephant yesterday, we found Prathida the elephant of Erin just waited for John and Erin gave their elephant first sugarcane and John just walk behind the collapsed tree and unchained his elephant and then he went three the bush to surprise Prathida and Prathida is very curious what happen to her mahout and make sure that is he Okay..

Can not close my eye to sleep tonight!!

Oh my Lord Buddha!!! Now it 's about half pass ten I should go to bed to sleep, but I can not close my eyes to sleep. I do not want to wake up with sleepy head and then go to home stay accommodation to call all tourists to pick up their elephants at 06:00 Am. It 's too early right??? But I have to do it otherwise blamed by the tourists.

Now at the camp is very quite and all mahouts and staffs are sleeping very well, but I can not sleeppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp. I heard some dogs barking around my house as they are in season :P

Actually I went to sleep about half hour ago, but my brain does not let me sleep at all, it activates me to work so I just pick up several photos that I took this morning of Look Khang as her mahout was trying to show how the molar of elephant looks like and he was trying to take some photos too. I think it's very true that the elephant changes their molar about six sets in their life and I was told by some mahouts that sometimes they found the molar of their elephant in the forest too. And this is also told by the vet.

And today I have great tourists in the mahout trainning course too, there are 12 tourists in the three day course and seems Australian tourists are occupying the camp as every trip we always have them in the course. I think because Australia is nearer than Europe or America and Thailand is their main destination.

I think Thai Elephants are very intelligent, they love their mahout who look after them every day like the mahout of Look Klang just told his elephant to open her mouth so that the mahout can see what happen to his elephant teeth or take some photo.

took this picture of hay head of Wang Chao this morning, I just ask the mahout of Wang Chao why this elephant put the hay on her head and the answer is this elephant is full and she did not what to day so she wanted to play by putting hay on her head instead of mud.

Hi every one, it 's exciting to show you this video of Seven and his mother " Pang Kaew " in the first bathing of the day. Seven is so adorable and he is so happy to swim around his mother. I went to film this video about 8 Am. with other my ten tourists who joining the three day mahout training course.

All my tourists are great tourists, they are very happy to see Seven and his mother in the water together. I wish to see you guys in very near future so that you can see seven's bathing in the morning...

Sri Dor Tadang and his mahout!!

Just add this picture to keep the website up to date so that you guy will not be disappointed to see new things happen at the camp.

I took this picture as we are going up the mountain to collect the elephant in this morning, Loonk Naul the mahout of Tadang just take his elephant away from us as his elephant would try to take the sugarcane from our tourists.

Ta Dang is the tuskless elephant at the camp, he is very interesting elephant as he is great breeding elephant. His lovely baby is Nau Oon, especially he is going to have other baby elephant with Prathida. I think Prathida 's baby will be great baby elephant as Ta Dang and Prathida are greatest elephant so their children must be great too. As in Thailand we believe that great elephant's maner and behavior are generated by their parents like what we said " If you want to know how beautiful that woman is you have to take a look at her mother and to make sure that she is really beautiful you have to take a look at her grand mother and for elephant if you would like to know how good that elephant is you have to take a look ears and tail keep flapping all the time.

Loong Naul the mahout of Ta Dang had to put the musk ( I do not know how to call in English ) to protect him from the little fly in the morning..

Now Prachaub can squirt or sprash water by using her trunk..

Actually this entry must be published about a week ago as I had great update on Prachaub that she can squirt water by using her trunk. In the past Prachaub she could not squirt water water, she was only elephant who just sat on her belly and let other elephant squirt water on her tourist who was sitting on Prachaub's neck.

So about a week ago, Nut the mahout of Prachaub just tried to hold the trunk of his elephant and put some water in and told Prachaub " Bon" which means to squirt water. Nut tried it about two day and then Prachaub she just realized what to do with that water and then on the third day can can squirt water but it's not as professional as Prathida and John.

Like today Nut just let Prachaub went bathing and Nut told his tourist to say " Bon Soong" and then Prachaub squirted water into the air and get to John, but you can see what 's that tourist get from squirting John and Prathida!! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

Sri dor Yai Fat old man!!

Went into the forest with the tourists who joining in our three day mahout training course and stopped on the way to say hello and take some photo for Sri Dor Yai. I met him as he was waiting for his mahout " Ja run " to give his elephant first sugar cane. I asked the mahout why not to leave his elephant further to the forest and the mahout told me that Sri Dor Yai just stop and did not want to walk any further, he just stopped under the tree which has fruits that he loves to eat. Anyway Sri Dor Yai one of his charactoristic is he is very easy to feed and eat. He is very happy elephant when he can find the place that he want to stop, he just uses his trunk hitting the ground..

Sri Dor Yai is one of my favourite elephant in the camp so far even we do not work together in three day course, but I love to stop and talk with him when I meet in the forest.

Sri Dor Yai his name means Mr. Tuskles Big and he deserves this name..

Want to see and know more about him, just come to the camp and join us the mahout training course..

I just got off my most beloved elephant "Areena" about ten minute ago. I just want to play around with her for fun and I want to refresh my feeling and living at the camp after been working as the Coordinator at the camp over eight year..

I think I will stick with this job as long as I can do, and I will not switch my job as the mahout as it's not easy. Photographer is what I can be haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Areena was born in 2004 May 6, I have special feeling attached to her. She is very lovely baby elephant ever in the camp she is very different than AI or Seven the babies elephants that we have now. Areena is much more gentle than any elephant at the camp or that I have meet before.

Riding on Areena today cause me a lot of sore legs and sweat on my face, but I will try it every day.

To Leah Morgan from Australia, I think I know which elephant for Alex. I will give him Areena as his elephant to ride. I think by the time Alex can come along with you and ride the elephant, Areena is very good size for him too. Can not wait to meet every one again.

Surrounding Teak forest at Elephant camp...

Yesterday I took my scooter around the camp and tried to captures some beautiful photos and I got it. I think many of the tourists who have been to the camp before, they never been to this area before. It 's just behind the mountain of the camp which can be reached by walking about twenty minutes walks. This areas are so very beautiful and nice for photography opportunity, I can not wait till next dry season as I bought this camera just about 4 months ago and I want to try it when good light in the morning when the sun is up. So far the light at the camp is so bad as it's very cloudy and rain almost every day.

I have to wait for only the end of October when the rain is gone, I will show you some photo of the sun is up, if I wake up in very early morning..

I met one elephant in the forest and photography him..

Thank for Challotte and Dan in Three day mahout training course

Just add some photos and very much thank for Challotte and Dan from England in joining our most popular three day mahout training course since 16-18 of September.

Challotte she used to be at the camp about one and half year ago to do some writing about Elephant and Mahout by her own self. At that time she came a long to the camp by herself and then this year she comes back with her boyfriend. Last time she came here for about nine day as she want to stay with her elephants and learn about them from the mahout. Wanalee and Tiam is her elephant and mahout.

I remembered on the last night we had talked and interviewed Tiam the mahout of Wanalee, Challotte could not stop her tears as tomorrow was her last day at the camp. But now she is at the camp happily.

Dan he is very lovely boy, I put Jojo as his elephant and he loves it as Jojo and mahout always makes very tourists happy in the past.

I was contacted with Challotte and Dan about her coming on this trip, but they had to postpone their trip, because Challotte has back injury, she can not get up and stand. So they had to stay Samet Island for about two week and then her injury was not better and two day before coming to the camp, she could walk properly. Said by Dan.

We are very happy that every one keeps coming back for their elephants and mahout and I am very happy to make every happy too so every night I just find some story and picture to add on the website..

Hi every one I think you all are looking to see new daily update of this website, I just add some video of the tourists in our three day mahout training course during 16--18 of September. Now It was done shortly as the slow internet connection.

I did not add any effect or trim any clip as I do not have much time, because I need to rush to home stay to cook for my tourist dinner. But I wish you will love it as in the video includes many lovely movie of elephants are kicking the ball, Prathida using the stick to scratch her leg because of itch and more..

Any one now is thinking of Prathida?????

I just took this photo this morning while John is playing around his elephant " Prathida" It seems Prathida really loves to play and be with John all the time. She always flaps her ears when John plays with her.

I am quite very happy to take this shot even today we have only two tourists to see the first elephant show.

It seems the Australian tourists are number one fan in our mahout training course so far, I think because Australia is not far from Thailand and we have a lot of people who tell their friends to come here and Westerner they have vacation around winter. But seems every three day we have Australian in our group. Like today Jim and Linda just left the camp with other two from England, one from Japan and other one Rebecca from Australia.

Julius and Emily are from England just arrived and booked our course on the first day and they said it's really worthwhile to pay and join our three day course even it's a little expensive for them.

Linda she cried at the show when she has to leave her elephant Look khang and Jim is very sad to leave his boy Jojo so every one today had great time with elephant here.. For more photo of them please visit the photo gallery...

This photos were taken in this morning while Jim and Swang were helping each other to clean Jojo after playing the mud last night.. This week seems there are very heavy rain in Thailand and it causes more water at the stream in the forest so it 's very easy to bath elephant there..

As yesterday we have some problem of the electricity at the camp so I can not add any video, and last night I tried to add the video again and it was failed.. Then today It takes me about three hours to add this fourteen minutes video..

I wish their family back home will enjoy some video of their friends, son or relatives..

Jojo is very white elephant!!

I added this entry it does not means Jojo is a white elephant. He becomes very white as last night he put the mud on his body. Whenever the rain starts all elephants are very happy and most of them will cover themselves with mud and dirt, all mahouts did not like to bring elephants to the camp as they have to change the new suit every day.

I do not really know what jojo did last night...

Adding some video of the tourists in three day training course during 7-9 of September and also two guys from USA just left the camp today.. I have some rough video without editing to show every one who might come and join our mahout training course in the future to see how much our current tourists are having the great time with elephants here in different continent.

I wish to meet every one here at Thai Elephant Conservation Center.. I wish I can buy new HD camcorder in the future for better quality of video..

AI suckling from his step mother..

Adding photo of Ai was suckling and feed by his step mother in a couple day ago, now Ai is very strong and healthy baby elephant at the camp.. He is much stronger and more playful than Seven who is younger than Ai about 4 months.

Currently at night Ai stays in the forest with his mother Pumpaung as Ai is big enough and then he will come back to the camp in the morning for bathing and have some food for the day.

Today 13 Japanese tourists just left the camp today with tears before saying good bye to their elephants.. Having great time with Mahouts and elephants at Thai Elephant Conservation Center since 4 of September, it seems three day and two night is too short for them to stay with elephants here..

I am extremely happy to be a part of making them happy at the camp, I wish to see every one here soon, but please make advanced reservation before coming here.

We are playing the card after dinner, for some tourists who has been here, already know how funny this game is !!

They were helping me to cook for dinner!!

Note: Japanese tourists are very lovely people, they are very good tourists and very respectful.

Jealious elephant Prathida!!!

This morning when I was waiting for tourists who join in our three day mahout training course to take their elephant bathing at 09:45 Am. I was surprised by Prathida that she did not want John to play with Pang Lawan so Prathida she made very loud trumpet to show that she is very protective and to show that she loves her mahout so much..

I think Prathida she loves John her mahout because the way John has been looking after her sice she was born. So Prathida has very special sense of love.

For me working at Thai Elephant Conservation Center is god's gift as there are so many things to do and see. Elephants and mahouts are greatest companian.

I wish you guys who enjoy viewing this website will love this video.

Play very funny game with Japanese tourists last night

I just added some video that I took it last night while John and Tiam played very funny game with Japanese tourists in our three day mahout training course. There are 13 tourists in their group.

This game is about the loser will drink the water. Tiam will give each player four cards, then every one will pass each other a card and when any body in the group has the same number can pick up the cover of the bottle and the others have to pick it to, so we 13 players but we have only 12 cover of bottle. The only one player pick up nothing is the loser has to drink a glass of water.. Let try.

I think I can throw up easily if some one put their hand in my month, but for elephants they won't. I just pass them and saw Nau Oon and Areena are putting their trunk into Sri Siam 's month. I think this is one of communication way of elephant which is do not know what it means.

Raelane, Jojo and Prathida in this morning..

Today morning I just stick with Prathida, John and Raelane in the forest as Prathida was chained between the way. After Raelane cleaned the back of Prathida, so we have some shots of them together. It seems Prathida is having a little smile. Prathida is very Photogenic???

Adding some wonderful photo of John and his tourist Raelane who comes along to Thai Elephant Conservation Center for three day mahout training course during 1-3 of September. John always makes very body laughing and Prathida is always talking with her mahout and she loves to play like this with John.

Raelane is working as Zoo keeper in Melbourne Zoo, she looks after reptiles like flogs and snakes. So John is acting like flogs on the trunk of Prathida.

This elephant's grazing area at TECC!!

I think many people are very curious to know about how big this land at Thai Elephant Conservation Center is, but I would say it's big like elephants. I do not know how to say in English as in Thai's term. Anyway we have unlimited land to use for the elephant to stay at night, this area are enough to house more than 50 elephants, so all elephants at the camp they will spend a while night eating good foods without any one bother them. So I am quite every happy to be at Thai Elephant Conservation Center.

But seems many tourists are worried about the demonstration in Bangkok so they stop traveling for a while, I wish by the upcoming high season which starts around the end of October, there will be a lot of traveler are coming to visit Thailand and here. Over here at Thai Elephant Conservation Center is very peaceful, all elephants are taking care of their elephants very well. We are wishing to meet every one here.

Latest update on Prathida!!

This morning I just wanted to play with Prathida and I was very curious about her pregnancy of her first baby elephant. As we are not really sure for 100% that Prathida's pregnancy, so I just try to touch and squeeze slightly on Prathida's breast and I found it 's bigger than the past. It seems she is having baby elephant as once she has pretty bigger belly than the past, second her breast is bigger and she walks into the forest and she stops many time and very slow. When she walks on the log, she walks carefully.

About a week ago I asked the head of mahout about Prathida, he said it's very potential that Prathida is pregnant at the moment because of she has very big belly and she also walk and move very slow. I wish this is true so we will have another little princess in the future.
