Now Khun Chai is getting worse since a couple day ago, it seems his legs could not carry his weight while the vets and the mahouts at the Elephant Hospital tried to help him to stand up as lying down too long, it might course bed sore on Khun Chai 's body.. I am going to update more story about this elephant later as now 3:30 Am. in the morning and I did not go to bed yet. I will have three or four hours to sleep and then I have to wake up the morning and go to the coffee shop to sell the coffee instead of my worker.. :( I have over 20 emails need replied now..

Khun Chai he might carry too much weigh on his leg so it caused swollen legs and pressure wound.. Our vets were trying to help him, but it seem too difficult to fix it as the bone on his legs lacked of calcium since he was caught from the wild.. I prayed ever night that some miracle will help this elephant to become normal again..

We are praying that Khun Chai will be able to get better and that his legs get stronger. He is such a lovely little elephant. I loved playing with him so much. He would play tug of war & would prance when you rubbed all the dirt off his back, then he would throw on more so you would rub it off again. It was hard to believe that he was a wild elephant, he was so friendly and happy to see tourists.
He could have no better care than being at TECC. I pray that the care you can give him is enough. Darling sweet little man.

Hi Supat and everyone at TECC, that's so sad about Khun Chai, he looks so sad and unhappy, but honestly I can't believe that it's his weight as I've seen fatter/chubbier baby elephants than him. As you said it must be a calcium deficiency or something like that. God I hope he can get better very soon for you all and be a happy baby elephant. Seeing him in that condition is horrible and upsetting for everyone especially his mahout. Sending my love to you all and hoping he gets better very very soon
