Claudio:

Hello!

Together with my wife we are going to Thailand next February. We have
been last year to the TECC and we anjoyed it very much: tha labor your
perform ther eis admirable.

This year we would like to come again, but this time take the Mahout course.

I have, however, a couple of questions I would really happy to receive
an answer before.

i) Are there still courses for 6 days? I seem to remember that last
year there were, but I can not find them. If there are, how much do
they cost?

iii) We plan to go on late February, first half of March, which days do the cours ebegin during that period?

iv) If booking the course online (via www.changthai.com) how long
does it take to receive confirmation of the booking?

Thank you very much and hope to see you soon.

All the best

Claudio

My family would like to do either the 2 day or 3 day mahout course about 2/3/4 January. After all the trouble in Bangkok, do you have availability?

Elephants are only my friends that I can trust.. The longer I stay and work with them and at the camp is the more I love them and my heart is completely melted.. I wish you will be back again the the future or just come to say hello to us.

Renae:

The first message was from my 10 year old daughter. She absolutely loved the elephants and developed a special bond with her elephant, Wanna. Her mahout, Maew, was very kind and worked well with her.

My husband, myself and our two children 8 & 10 years old had a fantastic time at your camp. Everything was perfect! From the sleeping accomodations, a bungalow just like the rest of the villagers' homes, to the very tasty food and, of course, our time with the elephants ! I didn't realize how much hard work it is taking care of elephants. No wonder the mahouts are in such great physical shape. The mahouts working at the camp are a great group of guys ! They are very attentive while we are working with the elephants and always making sure we are safe. They taught us a lot about elephants. I can't believe that we learned a few commands and could actually get the elephants to do things. It was a lot of fun.

The elephants are very friendly and each has their own personality. They are very gentle giants. When we hiked up to the forest to retrieve them at 6:30am you could see their excitement at seeing us and knowing that they would be free and would eat soon. I was amazed how the mahouts have trained the elephants. In the morning, my elephant, Kaew, could gather up his chain and place it around his neck all by himself with just verbal instructions from my mahout, Poom. During the show, he could paint pictures with a paintbrush held by his trunk. I purchased one picture that he did---a self-portait. Awesome !

My 8 year old son had the time of his life with his elephant, Sri Siam. By the end of the camp he was climbing all over his elephant, lying down on him and jumping onto his back. His most favorite time was bathing the elephants. He loved instructing his elephant to squirt water at other people. His mahout, Somchai, was a lot of fun. He kept my son busy and taught him how to handle his elephant well.

And, my husband, who is a little nervous around any animal, enjoyed the elephants as well. His mahout, Noot, was always very attentive to my husband and made sure that he was as comfortable as he could be and safe while riding his quite large elephant, Prachaub.

The rest of the staff at the camp, like the nice ladies who took our photos and video, the chef(s) and Supat run a well-organized, clean, family-friendly camp. The elephant hospital does a great job with the sick elephants.

Our family just loved the camp ! Along with visiting Chiang Mai, we also visited Bangkok and Koh Samet. But, our favorite time in Thailand, overall, was the Elephant Conservation Camp. We look forward to returning soon. Keep up the good work !
